These terms require some explanation. The idea of a ‘minor criticism’ is based upon Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of ‘minor literature’ in Kafka (1986: 16- 27) and ‘minor’ and ‘major’ languages in A Thousand Plateaus (1988: 100-6).10 In Kafka, a ‘minor literature’ is defined according to three characteristics.

This one is about the book Kafka: Toward a Minor Literature published in 1986. In this essay, the two authors, thanks to Franz Kafka’s work attempt to create a manifesto for what they call a minor literature. Minor, here, is of course ambiguous as it can both means secondary or from the minority.
It is not a long book, so let’s aim for finishing our discussion in just two meetings. Gilles Deleuze (/ d ə ˈ l uː z /; French: [ʒil dəløz]; 18 January 1925 – 4 November 1995) was a French philosopher who, from the early 1950s until his death in 1995, wrote on philosophy, literature, film, and fine art. Drawing upon the work of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, in particular their writing on Franz Kafka, this article stakes out the ground for a creative critical writing practice beyond the confin In this classic of critical thought, Deleuze and Guattari challenge conventional interpretations of Kafka’s work. Instead of exploring preexisting categories or literary genres, they propose a concept of “minor literature”—the use of a major language that subverts it from within. A MAJOR or established literature follows a vector which goes from content to expression: a content once given, in a given form, one must find, discover, or see the form of expression suitable to it. What is clear in the mind is then spoken But a minor or revolutionary literature begins by speaking and only sees and conceives afterward ("I do not see the word at all, I invent it").1 The Gilles Deleuze & Felix Guattari - Kafka: Toward a Minor Literature Ch. 00: Foreword - YouTube.
